Food Bank
- About: "Our Communities Response to Hunger."
- Job: "You will be determining whether food is safe or unsafe and then putting it in family-sized containers. Projects typically include building food boxes, sorting and repackaging of produce, groceries, bulk dry items like pasta or rice, or labeling food containers."
- Dates:
- Tues. 1pm - 4pm
- Wed. - Fri. 9am-12pm & 1pm-4pm
- 1st and 3rd Saturdays 9am-12pm
- Ages: 5 years and up
- If under the age of 18, they must have a parent or guardian present throughout the session

- About: "Provides temporary housing, food, and supportive services for homeless families, women, and men as the only homeless shelter in Pitt County."

- Long-term commitment: serving breakfast and helping in the respite house
- Short-term commitment: Organizing clothes in the Free Clothes Closet
- Dates:
- Serving breakfast: everyday 6-7:30 am
- Respite House: everyday 12-6 pm
- Free Clothes Closet: Tues.- Thurs. 2-4 pm
- Ages:
- must be 18+ to volunteer alone
- Those under the age of 18 must have a parent with them

- Another way to volunteer would be to hold a food drive of non-perishable food items to be donated to our community co-op program, or a hold a toy drive to collect brand new unwrapped toys for our Christmas store
Requirements:
- To volunteer in the Thrift Store, make an orientation appointment via the contacts below either on a Monday or Friday where they will give the person orientation of the thrift store and warehouse and the different things you might be doing while volunteering.

Humane Society of Eastern Carolina
About: "The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina's mission is to serve as a safe haven for homeless and neglected pets until they find their forever home and to serve as a resource to the community. By educating the public about issues pertaining to animals, we feel that we can work towards the elimination of over breeding of dogs and cats and teach owners to be responsible pet owners. At the same time, we hope to facilitate the adoption of pets to good homes so that we can allow more unwanted animals to find a temporary home with us."
